Hey You! Shoppers Rule No. 3 is always use online coupons! Now really this should have been rule number one in that we always want to save as much money as we can, but I’ve been doing these rules on a sort of ad hoc basis and didn’t really think it through all that clearly.
Anyway, online coupons like Target coupons, J.C. Penny coupons, and the hundreds of others out there will save you money on everything from A-Z. Often you’ll be able to save on shipping charges or get free shipping. The very nice thing about this site is they actually have a section devoted totally to free shipping coupons. I haven’t seen that on some of the others that I regularly use.
Basically, you get access to all of the “insider” promotions these sites run without the tons of spam you would have to receive to be an “insider.” You know, the “join our mailing list so you can get our exclusive special promotions” dealies. These guys cut out the middle man (namely, you) by getting all the spam, compiling the list, and offering it to you for free. Kind of like if someone cut up the Sunday paper for you saving you getting all that messy newsprint all over yourself.
I’m also going to share with you my best (not really) top secret tip for remembering to check for coupons when shopping online. The site you’re shopping at will do all the work for you. As you check out, it will always ask if you have a coupon code. And you will have bookmarked the coupon code website in a very easy to find spot so that you will automatically check to see how much you can save. No muss, no fuss, no work for you. Just easy savings. Anyone can do that!
